Kindergarten Demolition

On Thursday last term, we walked up North Road to watch Jonathon Rhodes Kindergarten being demolished.  We wrote this poem as a class, using lots of the words we had thought of to describe what we saw...

digger eating the building
like a giraffe eating leaves
crushing
crunching
interrupting
pushing
demolishing
destroying
noisy
dusty
smashing windows
shattering glass
excited children
crowded children
rubble like a messy room
crushed like an earthquake

We hope you like our bumblebee paintings.  There are fat ones and skinny ones, happy ones and frowning ones.  Bees, bees, bees...

Harold's Healthy Picnic

The Life Education Mobile Classroom visited our school this week.  Jacki, the teacher, and Harold, her trusty giraffe helper, took us on a healthy picnic.  We know lots about eating food for energy, and eating a variety of healthy food.  We even got to wear 3D glasses!  Check out the cool dudes below in the photo slideshow.  Thanks Jacki and Harold.  We love when you visit our school.  :)

Wind Direction with Sail Boats

We have been finding out about wind direction and force.  There are some very clever children in room 10.  They know that wind can blow from the North, South, East and West and anywhere in between!  We made sail boats to test if we could guess wind direction.  One person created the wind through a straw, and the rest of the group had to make a thinking guess about which direction the wind was blowing from.  It was lots of fun!
