Planting our Edible Garden

Today we planted Room 10's plot in our edible garden with Miss Evans and Hannah. Hannah works at the Botanic Gardens so she is an expert on how to plant seedlings and flowers properly. We planted broccoli and some flowers that will bring good bugs to our garden. Keep looking at our blog to keep track of how our garden is growing...

Snowy Days

sparkly, shiny, soft snow

flowing, twirling wind

yelling, excited, lying in the snow children

tumbling, giant snowflakes,
fluttering onto our heads

sliding, skidding, smashing cars

chilly, quiet, closed school

Two Vowels Together

Here is a video to help you with your spelling. Remember, when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking.

Snow Day

Hello Room 10! I hope you are all keeping warm at home today. Have you made snowmen in your backyard? I can't wait to hear about your snow adventures. Maybe you could write a snow poem.
See you all tomorrow. From Mrs S.

Art Gallery Visit

We visited the Art Gallery on Thursday afternoon. We looked at some paintings in the Gallery with Mr Neumegan. Then he told us a spider story and we sang some songs.
After that we became artists! We created bugs and spiders and stuck them to a web we had sewn with wool.
Wow - they look magnificent!!
What do you think...?

Making Pizza

This afternoon we made pizza for afternoon tea. We all had jobs to do - grating cheese, cutting ham, slicing mushrooms, chopping onions and opening pineapple cans.
We think room 10 are the best pizza makers in the world! (apart from Logan at Filadelfios of course!)

Shared Writing

Here we are hard at work!!

We are learning to write recounts. A recount is writing about something you have done. You have to have your ideas in order. This morning we worked in groups to write a recount about our trip to Filadelfios. Each group wrote one part of the recount and then we put it all together...

Our Visit to Filadelfios.
On Tuesday we went to Filadelfios to find out how to make pizza.
First we went into the kitchen. We went into the chiller. It was very cold because that is where the food is kept.
Next Logan made a pizza. He put cheese, mushrooms, ham and pineapple on the pizza. He chopped the pizza with a strange knife. The chopping was loud.
Then Logan showed us the drink machine. All of the buttons on the machine poured different drinks. He gave us some lemonade while we were waitng for the pizza to cook. It tasted sweet and bubbly.
Finally we got the pizza out of the oven. Logan put the pizza in a box. We took it back to school for morning tea. It smelt delicious on the way back in the bus. The bus driver wanted to eat our pizza!

We even got to bring a pizza back to school! We had such a yummy morning tea. Next we are going to plan our own pizza making process. We'll keep you posted...
