Making broad bean mash...

Last Thursday we picked all the broad beans off the plants in our garden...

Then we podded the beans...   
              cooked the beans....
              peeled the skin off the beans...
and whizzed them all up in the food processor with salt, pepper and sour cream.

We made a huge pile of toast and...

...ate the bean mash on toast!

  Most of us loved it....some of us weren't so sure!  But everyone had at least one big bite!











 

Ronald McDonald...

We all got a huge surprise this morning when Ronald McDonald arrived at out school!  He told us a story about losing his red stripy sock on a windy day.  He had to be very careful around roads and cars as he looked for his sock.  So we learned and remembered lots of road safety rules.  Thanks Ronald McDonald - we love seeing you!

Buddy reading with Room 2...

Sometimes we buddy read on a Friday afternoon with the cool kids in Room 2.  They read stories to us and we love it!  It is such a lovely way to end our week. 

Science experiments...

We were learning about pulleys this week.  We read a book with Miss Parker called, "How do you lift a lion?"  We made our own pulleys and tested them with loads.  Tyrell spotted a pulley that makes our blinds go up and down in the classroom.  Clever thinking!

Learning about slopes...

We are learning about simple machines with Miss Parker, and how they make work easier for us.  We made a slope with a metre ruler.  We found out that the higher the slope of the ruler, the faster the marble runs down the slope. We had lots of fun experimenting and working in our groups!

Super Spellers...

These wonderful children got all of their spelling words correct this week.  Well done super spellers!

Jump Jam...

We love to do Jump Jam for fitness on a wet day.  Here we are moving and grooving to get fit and have fun!
