Our second chrysalis was very black on Friday but the butterfly did not emerge. Mrs S. came into school on Saturday afternoon to check what was happening and the monarch butterfly had emerged! Can you tell if it is a boy or a girl?
Hello to Mrs S's class! Great to see you're studying the Monarch butterfly.
We would love to have you help us with tagging Monarch butterflies.
We want to know where the Monarch butterflies go in the winter, so we are putting small tags on their hindwings - and many schools are involved. Would you like to help us?
Welcome to Room H3 at North East Valley Normal School. We are a class of fabulous Year 2 children. Mrs Sintmaartensdijk is our teacher. There are 11 girls and 10 boys in our class. North East Valley is in Dunedin, which is a city in the lower half of the South Island in New Zealand. Our school is cool and we want to show you what is happening in our classroom and at our school. Please send us your comments - we love to read those! Enjoy looking at our blog.
