Finding out about Sound

We have been doing some experiments to find out about how sound travels. We found out that we can feel and hear vibrations when we use a tuning fork, and a string telephone. We found out that sound travels through water and glass.
How does our ear hear these vibrations as sound? Miss Little has a model of an ear that we are going to look at closely, to find out about how our ear hears sound.
