Shayden and his grandad found a huhu grub in their fire wood. It is chomping its way through the piece of wood and making lots of little tunnels.
We know that the huhu grub will turn into a huhu beetle. "How will it do this?" asked room 10 children.
"Will it turn into a cocoon like a butterfly?"

Super Spellers

We had eleven super spellers this week. Next week our goal is to get sixteen super spellers!!

Wacky Hair and Hat Day

We had a wacky hair and hat day today to raise some money to give to Scott. Scott visited our school two weeks ago and he is going to skike from Cape Reinga to Bluff, to raise money for the SPCA and Canteen.
There were some pretty cool hairstyles and hats!!

Scarfies

We made puppets with scarves on Wednesday with Caitrin and Drew.
Phaedra wrote an excellent recount of how we made them.

Yesterday room 10 made puppets at school.
First we picked out a colourful scarf.
Next we put glue on the scarf and glued on the head.
Then we glued on the eyes and the hair.
Finally we put them on the table to let them dry.
I like how I can make my puppet dance, talk and sing.

Super Spellers

Eleven super spellers in Room 10 this week!! What a fabulous effort everyone. Next week we are aiming for sixteen super spellers.

Handwriting Star

Phaedra is the handwriting star this week. She has worked really hard to make her letters smaller. What an excellent effort Phaedra. You can have a whole week off handwriting!!

There are seven super spellers in room 10 this week. I am impressed with the way that these children know how to spell their words so quickly. They are fast spellers!! That's what happens when you practise your words.

Handwriting Star

Here is our wonderful handwriting star this week. Te Awa keeps his letters all the same size and they always sit on the line. He gets a whole week of handwriting holiday. Ka pai!!

We are learning about co-operation. We have played lots of co-operative games. When we co-operate we:

Colouring In Competition

The lucky winners of the colouring competition. Dylan got the cap for excellent colouring and not going over the lines. Te Awa and Joshua won a prize for the most creative colouring in.
